In 1742, the notorious highwayman Joshua Rookwood, also known as "The Scayrecrow", terrorizes England's roads, leaving no one safe from his daring robberies. Despite being compared to Turpin, Rookwood's motives go beyond brutality and greed, as he secretly delivers stolen riches to his lover, Eleanor Tawney, a serving girl, every full moon.
