A diverse group of strangers arrive on a remote island, drawn together by a mysterious author whose latest novel has created a sense of disorientation, making it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction.
A waitress named Lucia escapes to a secluded island after her boyfriend, a writer, goes missing. She meets Carlos and Elena, who are also hiding from their pasts. Unbeknownst to them, they all have a connection to Lorenzo, a writer who had a mysterious past.
