Short Grass

A drifter, Steve Lewellyn, arrives in New Mexico just as the railroad is about to transform the territory. When he's framed for a saloon robbery, he escapes and kills the gunman in self-defense. After recovering from his wounds, Steve gives money to an honest rancher, Pete Lynch, to buy land and becomes his partner. However, he's forced to leave the country after killing the rancher's brother in self-defense. Five years later, Steve returns to find the rancher seeking revenge against him and his friends, including Sharon Lynch, who Steve had rescued earlier.
