In the Canadian Boreal Forest, outside the small town of Dawson City, Yukon, a group of farmers have carved out small patches of fertile soil in the wilderness to make a living and a life. They grow a variety of crops, including Brussels sprouts, apples, and radishes, and tap birch trees for syrup. The farmers, including a young family, a third-generation German horticulturalist, and a Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in youth, are all deeply tied to the land and have a profound love for it. Dawson filmmaker David Curtis follows the farmers over the course of a year, capturing the beauty of the remote land and the wisdom of those who've chosen to call it home.
