Famous criminal lawyer Lester Owens wins a deadlocked jury trial, freeing his client Eddie Geller. FBI Agent Vince "Lanny" Landers returns from a trip and agrees to help the FBI crack down on organized crime. When one of Geller's jurors is found dead, Landers investigates and attends a party at Geller's nightclub, where he warns Geller that he will eventually go to jail and suggests he testify against his boss. Later, Geller is found dead and multiple suspects emerge. Landers follows the story, uncovering a web of murder, deceit, and forgery.
