Straight Place and Show background

Straight Place and Show

In this action-packed comedy, the Ritz Brothers participate in a high-stakes wrestling match at the racetrack to finance a horse's training and competition expenses, while also lending a hand to a young man as he prepares his fiancée's horse for a big race, injecting a touch of romance ...

It's racing season, and the Ritz brothers are rumored to be making a killing with their horse "Playboy," owned by Barbara Drake, who has a wealthy and grumpy father. Barbara's boyfriend Denny is an all-around good citizen who's not interested in competing with the horse for Barbara's affections. Denny wagers that "Playboy" won't win a race in three months, and if he loses, Barbara has to give him the horse. Despite "Playboy" not winning, Denny gives it to the Ritz brothers, who then receive an offer from a torch singer named Linda to buy an interest in the horse.
