Three people - a honky tonk dancer, a cheap promoter, and an escaping convict - rush through the vast swamplands, pursued by police. The convict reaches a cabin where he meets the dancer's niece, who believes him to be her future husband due to an old swamp proverb. The dancer tries to break off her niece's engagement to the trapper, her ex-lover, but ultimately, the truth is revealed and the convict is cleared of a crime he didn't commit, allowing him to marry his new love.
