A guitarist and singer with brittle bone disease defies his condition to become a rock guitarist, playing with his drummer friend in the band Tallywhacker. The band is invited to open for a major rock star, but things get complicated when the star invites the guitarist to tour with her. The guitarist decides to take his drummer friend on the tour, leaving their original band in limbo. The friendship of the two musicians will soon be put to the test.
