The 49th Man background

The 49th Man

A covert team secretly transports 48 nuclear bomb parts into the United States, aiming to launch a surprise assault, but their plan is disrupted when an unaccounted 49th component surfaces.

Richard Denning's character, U.S. Security Investigation Division chief Paul Reagan, sends John Ireland's character, John Williams, to track down a group smuggling A-bomb parts into the United States. Williams uncovers the plot in Marseilles, France, and meets Suzanne Dalbert's character, Margo Wayne, who is part of the scheme.
