A con artist, "Doc" Medley, lures Dr. Bruce Merritt to Bitter Water with a fake medical practice, but his daughter Angela is determined to repay Merritt's $250. Angela's attempts to win back the money lead to a confrontation with her ex-lover Slinger, who cheats her and wounds her in a bank robbery. Merritt, realizing his mistake about Angela, sends a messenger after her, but Slinger shoots him. Angela, left alone, must fend off the killer with the only loaded gun she can find.
