James Burn III, a millionaire's son, seeks a life free from responsibility and work. He participates in a mass sleep-in outside Windsor Castle, which angers his father. To rectify this, his father hires Nancy to dupe James into entering the world of work, bringing him into contact with her elderly father and other English eccentrics. Nancy and James fall in love, get married, and experience a rocky relationship due to their differing attitudes towards life.
