The Presentation Sisters and Sisters of Mercy of St. John's, Newfoundland, a mostly invisible group, have been struggling to attract new recruits. The vast majority of the sisters are elderly women who have given up searching for new members. They're no longer involved in education, but they continue to fight for prisoners' rights, feed the poor, and provide care to those in need. Despite their dwindling numbers, many people rely on their work and kindness, including those who receive goods, clothing, and healthcare, prisoners who receive counseling, and former members who now require elderly care.
The Incredible Vanishing Sisters
