A mouse in a yellow hat accidentally eats rum cake, thinking it's cheese, and becomes drunk. The next morning, he wakes up with a hangover and is further tormented by the sounds of construction nearby. In a misguided attempt to alleviate his headache, he uses the Sunflame Diamond, a valuable jewel, as an ice pack. Two incompetent policemen are dispatched to investigate the "theft" of the diamond, only to be outsmarted by the mouse, who has the jewel tied to his head.
