Rodney, a renowned Hollywood director, puts his upcoming film on hold to pursue his passion project: directing a Broadway musical. He holds open auditions in New York City, discovering a talented newcomer, Aster, who seems perfect for the lead role. As rehearsals begin, Aster struggles to meet Rodney's expectations, despite receiving help from her castmates, including Danica, a triple threat, and Corey, her love interest both on and off stage.
