The Orchard End Murder background

The Orchard End Murder

A serene afternoon for a young woman takes an unforeseen turn as she grows disillusioned with a village cricket match, leading her to wander and discover a charming tea party at a nearby railway station.

In 1966, Pauline Cox attends a cricket match in Charthurst Green, Kent, but becomes bored and wanders off. She meets a hunchbacked station keeper who entertains her to tea, but is later upset by the arrival of his assistant Ewen, who kills a rabbit in her presence. Pauline is then murdered by Ewen, and the hunchback helps him bury her body in an apple orchard. However, the body is later discovered by the police, and Ewen's guilt is revealed.
