The Outcast background

The Outcast

A theatrical troupe's financial woes take a dramatic turn when their box-office manager absconds with the company's funds, prompting the leaders to embark on a desperate quest to salvage the production by divesting assets and forging an unlikely alliance with a Newcastle theatre.

A struggling theatre troupe's assets are seized by a corrupt box-office manager, leaving the performers with no choice but to open a bookie's stall in London. However, they soon become embroiled in a scheme involving false inside information, leading to devastating losses and a desperate attempt to recover by training a greyhound puppy for racing. As Bill's fortunes plummet, he finds himself in a series of misadventures, including a prison escape and a wild ride through the streets in a garbage truck.
