Two prospectors, Bill Carter and his young partner Ted, stumble upon a wounded sheriff left for dead by a group of smuggling outlaws. They take him to a cabin, where the sheriff appoints Bill a deputy to track down the smugglers, led by a corrupt deputy named Hal Bost.
