A wealthy heiress, Dorothy, fears that her wealth is the only reason people will love her. To test this theory, she and her secretary, Sylvia, switch identities, with Dorothy pretending to be Sylvia and Sylvia pretending to be Dorothy. Dorothy becomes attracted to Tony and encourages him to fall in love with the fake Dorothy, believing that if he does, it means he only loves her for her wealth. However, the scheme backfires, leaving everyone, including Dorothy, confused about who truly loves whom.
