Government agent Carl Steelman, with German heritage, joins the Nazi Bund to gather intel on their underground activities. He becomes a trusted member, but his father is unaware of his mission. Steelman assumes the identity of a member heading to Germany for training and meets Helga, a member of the German underground. He must betray her to the Gestapo to complete his mission, but later rescues her and helps her escape to England.
