A half-crazed gangster, known as The Ghost, blackmails a desert café owner, "Pop" Bronson, into storing stolen rubber tires for the Black Market. The gangster's attention is drawn to Julie, the café owner's daughter, and he brutally shoots her father when he mistakenly believes Pop Bronson is responsible for a rival gang's attack.
