Mumbai-based Rahul accompanies his friend Amar Singh to a village called Bhedia to attend his sister's wedding. On the way, he falls in love with a young woman, Bela, despite being told she's destined to be a prostitute. Unable to forget her, Rahul approaches a pimp and learns more about her and her family. Despite opposition from Bela's parents, who plan to sell her to the highest bidder, Rahul and Bela secretly fall in love. However, their relationship threatens the community's lucrative flesh trade, leading to a Panchayat Meeting where they're found guilty and punished with a death sentence for Rahul.
