Pete and Nancy's relationship is a facade, fueled by their shared addiction to drugs. Nancy longs for Pete, but he only cares about the money she provides to feed his habit. He leaves her to indulge in drugs at a go-go bar, while Nancy finds solace in a lesbian encounter. At his father's beach house, Pete's relationships become complicated. He's with his real girlfriend, Carrol, but also brings his friend Rick, who's accompanied by a group of unsavory characters. The weekend descends into chaos as the group's interactions become increasingly disturbing, including a rape. Meanwhile, Pete's drug use takes a dark turn when he takes LSD, and Nancy learns that Pete has sold her to his pusher, who has then sold her to a stranger.
