A secret underworld gang leader plans a massive jewel robbery at the Waldorf Jewelry Company to sell the stolen gems back to the insurance company. The gang enlists the help of a young Italian boy whose brother is the lawyer for the insurance company, hoping to use his brother's influence to get away with the crime. However, a pastry shop owner on the ground floor of the boy's apartment building witnesses the robbery and recognizes one of the thieves, threatening to expose the gang's plan.
