The film tells the story of Hubert Abercrombie Gumm, a quirky and eccentric executive at a radio station, who gets his job thanks to his aunt Fannie Handley, married to one of the company owners. Hubert's antics cause chaos when he mixes up script pages, leading him to try and secure a contract with a returning explorer for the radio station.
