A young girl, Kotoko, is chosen by spirits to serve as a mediator between their world and the realm of the Goddess of Wisdom, sacrificing her eye and leg in the process. As she matures, Kotoko monitors both benevolent and malevolent spirits, eventually encountering a secretive young man named Kurou whose secrets spark her curiosity and the fear of spirits towards him alone.
