A Yank at Oxford background

A Yank at Oxford

A young American aristocrat pursues academic excellence at Oxford University to gain recognition and impress his rival's sister.

Lee Sheridan, a talented athlete, is accustomed to being praised by his father, a newspaper publisher, for his sporting achievements. He's well-liked by his colleagues at Lakedale State College, but his ego can be off-putting. When he's offered a scholarship to Oxford, he expects a warm welcome, but his brash American personality clashes with his staid British classmates. Despite initial difficulties, Lee decides to stay and prove himself, partly to impress Molly Beaumont, Paul's sister.
