Berlin Blues background

Berlin Blues

In West Berlin's Kreuzberg borough, the SO 36 district was a hub of creativity and culture in October 1989, as a diverse community of students, artists, and bohemians flourished, having been separated from the rest of the city for 28 years by the Berlin Wall.

In the West Berlin borough of Kreuzberg, a vibrant subculture thrived in the isolated SO 36 neighborhood, where students, artists, and bohemians found community among crumbling buildings. Barkeeper Frank, affectionately known as "Herr Lehmann," spent his days drinking and pursuing a romance with cook Katrin, but his life was disrupted when his parents arrived for a visit, tensions arose with Katrin, and his best friend Karl began acting strangely.
