An archaeologist scolds his silent dog, Shep, for allegedly taking a dinosaur bone from a museum exhibit. Shep discovers a bulldog walking away with his buried bone and begins a chase to retrieve it. Shep outsmarts the bulldog, exchanging the bone for a fake one with dynamite, and flees as it explodes. However, upon returning to the museum, Shep learns the original bone was in the archaeologist's pocket, and the one he retrieved was just a soup bone.
