In 1930s Paris, Surrealist leaders Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel face a financial crisis after a scandal surrounding "The Golden Age." With his next project, a documentary on poverty-stricken Las Hurdes, stalled, Buñuel's friend Ramón Acín buys a lottery ticket, promising to fund the film if he wins.
