Burnt by the Sun

In 1936, a celebrated revolutionary hero is torn apart by the brutal aftermath of Stalin's repressions, as a baseless accusation of being a foreign spy puts his very existence at risk.

In 1936, Colonel Kotov, a revolutionary hero, is enjoying a peaceful summer with his family and friends in a Russian village. However, his tranquility is disrupted by the sudden arrival of his charming and talented cousin, Dmitri, who wins over the women and his young daughter, Nadia, with his charming games and impressive piano skills. But Kotov is suspicious, knowing that this is a time of great repression under Stalin's rule, and he senses that Dmitri's visit is not a social call.
