Divine Intervention background

Divine Intervention

Against the backdrop of a divided Palestine, two star-crossed lovers from Jerusalem and Ramallah defy the odds to be together, employing creativity and bravery to overcome the formidable barriers and dangers that threaten to tear them apart.

In this poignant and humorous film, Santa Claus finds himself in a precarious situation as he tries to outrun a group of knife-wielding youth. The movie is a collection of vignettes that showcase daily life in Israel, including a neighborhood in Nazareth and the Al-Ram checkpoint in East Jerusalem. The stories are often droll, absurd, and even mythic, with minimal dialogue.
