Tom Cochrane, a man covered in blood and under the influence of cocaine, is taken into custody by detectives Shannon and Taylor. After escaping from police questioning, Tom's girlfriend Lois and his brother-in-law Mac, a police officer, work together to clear Tom's name and investigate a possible murder. Tom's memories of the night are hazy, but he recalls meeting a man named Joe at a bar and attending a party at the Sindells' apartment.
