An art teacher's peaceful nights are disrupted by mysterious noises in the loft above his studio. When he investigates, he discovers an unexpected tenant who claims he's renting the space, despite the landlord's earlier denials. As tensions rise, the landlord is found murdered, and suspicion falls on a drunken evictee who had a heated argument with him.
