Poppy Wakefield, a freelance journalist, is devastated by her husband's infidelity. She finds solace in a TV segment featuring George Clooney, who embodies everything her husband is not: sophisticated, charming, and committed to making a difference. When she receives an invitation to visit Los Angeles, she sets out to meet Clooney, hoping they'll fall in love at first sight. Along the way, she encounters a cast of colorful characters, learning to navigate her future without a man.
