A shy 15-year-old girl named Alice struggles to connect with her parents, finding solace in her diary. After her family moves, she befriends another outsider, Beth. However, when Beth leaves for camp, Alice is introduced to the "in" crowd and becomes addicted to drugs, using them to cope with her parents and feel more confident. As her addiction worsens, she must confront the consequences of her actions and seek help from a priest and psychiatrist to overcome her downward spiral.
