Young Howard Lovecraft's adventure begins when he visits his father in the Butler Sanitarium, where he's been driven mad by a mysterious event. His father begs him to destroy a book he wrote, but Howard's curiosity gets the better of him and he begins to read it. The book transports him to the dark and magical world of R'yleh, where he meets a Deep One named Spot and becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue. Accompanied by Spot and new friends, Howard must uncover the secrets of R'yleh to return home to his family.
