In the French village of the Tarn region, a rugby legend's grandson, son, and himself a legend, Jo Canavaro, raises his 13-year-old son Tom alone. Despite being excellent at math, Tom is unskilled in rugby, a source of shame for Jo. Determined to keep the Canavaro legend alive, Jo forms a rugby team for Tom against the village's and Tom's will.
