In 1989, when Yves Rénier revived his iconic TV series Commissaire Moulin, which originally premiered in 1976, Marchal joined forces with Rénier as a scriptwriter, series supervisor, and occasional actor, solidifying his position in the television world.
Fast-forward to 2000, Marchal took on the starring role of Commandant Pierre Rivière in his own TV series, Police district, which was penned by renowned novelist Hugues Pagan, a former police officer himself.
