A doctor, cleared of malpractice charges, faces scrutiny from the medical board. To escape the controversy, he joins a friend on a flight to Alaska, but they crash and the friend is killed. The doctor is rescued by a fur trapper and taken to a trading post, where he meets a woman engaged to marry the post owner's son, who is suffering from a rare disease.
