Two friends, Ikal and Arai, face a series of challenges after being kicked out of their hostel in Europe. Despite the cold weather, Arai's efforts to save Ikal's life pay off, and they continue their studies at Sorbonne. Ikal and Arai join the Pathetic Four, a group of students from developing countries who are struggling academically. Meanwhile, Ikal's father wants him to become a fertilizer expert or pharmacist, but Ikal and Arai have other dreams. Katya, a popular girl on campus, tries to win Ikal's heart, but he remains torn between her and his feelings for Aling.
