Tom Kirk, the adopted son of murdered Indian Agent Joe Kirk, sets out to avenge his father's death by tracking down the killer. His search leads him to arrest gambler Honest John, who claims to have found Joe's ring on the floor during a card game with suspect Crandall. However, Crandall eliminates Honest John to maintain his silence, inadvertently providing Tom with a crucial clue that ultimately leads him to the truth.
