Eddie is tasked with capturing escaped convict Caxton, who can be identified by the distinctive polka dot band on his hat. To track him down, Eddie has Soapy wear a similar hat, which inadvertently gets Soapy arrested upon arrival in town. This mistake, however, ultimately leads Eddie to Varney, who is believed to be connected to Caxton's whereabouts.
