Dave's life is in disarray. His wife is in Washington D.C., his restaurant, the Auk, is struggling in a remote Newfoundland inlet, and he's always drinking. When his neighbor Phonce, who's hiding a large stash of cocaine, convinces him to help sell it, Dave's life takes a drastic turn. By faking a rare bird sighting, Phonce lures in a flock of bird enthusiasts, turning Dave's restaurant into a hotspot. As Dave becomes embroiled in the cocaine trade and falls for a young helper, Phonce plans to launch a recreational submarine, and suspicious individuals start snooping around. But when the truth comes to light, will Dave and Phonce have a backup plan?
