Sheila met her spouse, Peter Donaldson, while she was instructing an anaerobics warm-up class during a punk-rock production of "Godspell" at the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario, in the year 1983.
With her husband, Peter Donaldson, who was the son of a Commodore of the Canadian Steamship Line, Sheila had two daughters, one born in 1992 and one born in 1988.
Prior to her husband's passing, the couple resided in Stratford, Ontario, in a century-old home that is characterized by a lack of "bohemian exuberance" - a notable exception being the stainless steel and chrome-clad kitchen, which features a ceiling adorned with retro pressed-tin squares.
In the summer of 2004, Sheila took to the stage, appearing in productions of "Guys and Dolls" and "Anything Goes" at the Stratford Festival.
