American artist Lee Thornwood and his model Sally Dennis seem to have a perfect relationship, but he unexpectedly marries Toni Bonnet, a Parisian designer, and shares a touching performance of "Parlez-moi d'Amour/Speak to Me of Love".

In the film, a seemingly perfect couple, American artist Lee Thornwood and model Sally Dennis, are ultimately torn apart as Lee chooses to marry Parisian designer Toni Bonnet instead. Throughout their tumultuous relationship, Lee serenades Toni with the romantic ballad "Parlez-moi d'Amour/Speak to Me of Love" in both French and English. Later, his housekeeper, Martha Moriarity, tries to rekindle the flame between Lee and Sally, bringing their complicated love story full circle.
