Tommy Tompkins and Skeeter Milligan lead a team of young U.S. Army fliers in the Sky Patrol, a reserve unit that patrols borders and coastlines to catch smugglers. Their mission takes a dramatic turn when Carter Meade, son of the unit's commander, is sent on a solo patrol to stop an unknown aircraft. However, Carter's fear of guns leads him to abandon his plane after it's attacked, leaving his whereabouts unknown. Tommy and Skeeter must now search for Carter and uncover the identity of the mysterious plane.
