Outlaws, disguising themselves as Southern sympathizers, are actually led by Jim Maroon, a freight-line owner, as they hijack stagecoaches and put Union communication lines at risk.

A group of outlaws, disguised as Southern sympathizers, are secretly led by a freight-line owner and terrorize stagecoaches, threatening Union communications. Two men, a stage line trouble-shooter and a Union man, join forces to stop them, while also vying for the attention of a charming woman.
