Tammy tags along with Mrs. Call to Los Angeles for her surgery, and gets a job as a nurse's assistant at the hospital when she finds out there are no guest quarters. She meets Dr. Mark Cheswick, played by Peter Fonda, and Adam West appears as Dr. Eric Hassler. This film marks the final entry in the Tammy film series and Sandra Dee's last appearance as Tammy.
