During the War of 1812, the British aim to seize New Orleans, where pirate Jean Lafitte is enjoying a romantic affair with Annette de Remy while openly peddling his plunder. Despite being a pirate, Lafitte never attacks American vessels. The British attempt to corrupt Lafitte into assisting them, while Lafitte tries to convince American authorities of his loyalty. Meanwhile, a love triangle between Annette, Gretchen, and Lafitte threatens to be his downfall.
