Tommy "Killer" McCoy, a talented light heavyweight boxer, was once a church choirboy with a natural talent for fighting. His father, Brian, pushed him into boxing to support his own vices, causing Tommy to have a love-hate relationship with him. Despite being known for his left-handed boxing, Tommy has a powerful right punch. He enters a secret partnership with racketeer Jim Cain, using his left hand to win fights and their mutual goal is to escape their respective rackets.
